What this site is, what it is not, and where the line sits.

Not medical advice

Everything published on Biohacker Life is general information about published research. It is not medical advice, it does not establish a clinician–patient relationship, and it cannot account for your history, your medications, your diagnoses or your circumstances.

Nothing here should be used to diagnose a condition, to treat one, or to decide against seeking care.

Talk to a clinician

Consult a qualified healthcare professional before you:

  • Start or stop any medication
  • Begin a supplement regimen, particularly alongside prescription drugs
  • Take up intensive exercise, cold water immersion, heat exposure or fasting
  • Act on anything you read here, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, or managing a chronic condition

Several practices discussed on this site carry genuine risk. Cold water immersion has caused cardiac events and drownings. Breath-hold work in water has killed experienced practitioners. Heat exposure combined with alcohol is dangerous. Prescription medicines used off-label carry the same risks they carry on-label, without the supervision.

Never delay care

If you have a health concern, seek professional advice. Do not disregard or delay it because of something you read here. If you think you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

On self-experiments

Articles describing personal experiments report what one person did and what happened. They are unblinded, uncontrolled and unrepresentative by construction. They are published because honest n-of-1 reporting — including the failures — is more useful than the alternative, not because the results generalise. They are not protocols and should not be treated as such.

Accuracy

We aim to represent research accurately and to state uncertainty where it exists. We will still get things wrong. Findings change, our reading of them changes, and articles reflect the evidence available when they were written. Corrections are published openly. Tell us if you spot an error.
